Lovely Orchid Oolong Tea Time

My girlfriend, Nell, recommended this Oolong tea to me recently.  She has great taste so I knew I had to give it a shot.  Turns out she was right; Orchid Oolong is flippin’ fantastic.  It has a sweet & nutty taste…almost reminiscent of coconut and cocoa if that makes any sense.  In my opinion this tea could be paired with a sweet or savory dish.  Sometimes I drink this with a side of Manna Bread (which is a delicious oil-free sprouted grain bread).  Other times, I with sip with sushi like I did today!  Yes, I ate sushi for breakfast today…how asian of me.  🙂  At first, I thought it was rather odd eating sushi in the morning, but then I realized that it’s only fruits and vegetables…like a green smoothie just in sushi form! So why not eat sushi for breakfast?!

Isn’t Oolong a fun word? Ooooooooooolong. Haha, I like ooooooooolongs.  Other than being a totally cool word, Oolong teas boost your metabolism.  Oolong teas have a unique catechin (antioxidant) and caffeine blend that work harmoniously to raise your metabolism even 2 hours after drinking it.  They also contain polyphenols that help block fat enzymes.  Don’t go loading up on extra fat and think your oolong will do the work for you though! Just eat plants, drink tea and lots of water, and soon enough you’ll be in your happy place if you aren’t there already!

You can find this lovely Orchid Oolong by Mighty Leaf HERE. (TIP: if you’re in the market for an iron teapot, be sure your iron teapots is made in Japan not China.)

Cheers to Oooooooooolongs!
