Ten years ago if you had asked me what I thought about long sleeve swimsuits, I would have told you that they were dorky & very uncool.
Fast forward to 2024, I am all about that sun protection life and very much into a long sleeve swimsuit. In fact, I think long sleeve swimsuits can be very chic.
I just experienced my first long sleeve swim moment recently when we were at our beach house, and ok babes, I am hooked! The suit felt slimming & secure, and I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that a larger portion of my body was covered at the beach, for once.
I wish I had been about extra sun protection all my life, but the next best thing I can do is do better now. Granted, I did stop officially tanning in 2008, but I haven’t always been that girl who wears sunscreen all over her body daily.
One of the reasons sun protection has been on my mind lately is because the freaking tops of my hands are showing some dark spots now, and I’m very much NOT into that, so I am doing some due diligence in reversing the clock and one of those ways is being more proactive on sun protection like rocking the long sleeve swimwear.

Above is the Amazon long sleeve swimsuit that I ordered! Loved it; especially the thumb holes!!! It’s under $30 btw.. such a steal. (I’m wearing a medium. If you’re between sizes, size up)
Once receiving this one, not surprisingly, I went down a long sleeve swim rabbit hole, and found so many more chic ones.
THEN, I came across Kourtney Kardashian rocking long sleeve swim, and I was like well YES I most certainly am on the trending swim fashion circuit. 😉 Her sis’s brand, SKIMS, just launched metallic long sleeve swim and it’s quite vibey.

It’s clear that long sleeve swim is not just for water sports any longer and you can rock a fashion statement at the beach while protecting your body from the sun. Wins all around.
Would you rock a long sleeve swimsuit?!
Have fun in the sun, Ashley ☀️💜
