Lately I have been really into cranberry juice & lemon.
I actually enjoy the way unsweetened cranberry juice tastes. I know a lot of people don’t, but I find it super refreshing, especially when it’s extra cold.
I often use unsweetened cranberry juice as a liquid base for berry smoothies. It adds so much antioxidant content without unnecessary sugar – because of that it’s something I keep in the pantry at all times.
I got really into cranberry juice again after I had a major UTI that had me in the emergency room last year. There is actually a lot of debate over whether cranberry juice is good for you in helping UTI’s, but from what I gathered it definitely seems like although cranberry juice is healthy and cleansing and may support a healthy bladder it is not sufficient on it’s own to clear yourself of a UTI if you already have an active infection.

I like to drink this cranberry elixir as a refreshing, low-sugar drink to support cleansing, de-bloating, and as a preventative measure perhaps for any future UTI issues.

- may help prevent cavities in teeth (by controlling harmful acids in the mouth)

- lowers inflammation
- healthy gut fruit that may increase good bacteria

- helps digestion
- prevents cell damage
- vitamin C
- healthy potassium boost
- prevents kidney stones
Per the reasons above, it makes sense why I feel so de-bloated and detoxified while drinking this! Like maybe it’s just me, but I feel so much lighter and less puffy. In the mornings OR if I’ve eaten something heavy / salty, I go for this cranberry lemon cleansing water and I swear to god it makes me feel 10x lighter and less heavy. I don’t know exactly how to describe it, but just give it shot. I have a feeling you’ll see what I mean.
With the cranberry + lemon + water ratio, just experiment with how much you like of each. You really don’t need a recipe, you just need to “eyeball it” and taste it.

Cleansing Cranberry Lemon Water
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 Cup Cranberry Juice unsweetened
- 3 T Lemon Juice
- 4 Cups Water
