Hey guys, happy Monday! I can’t wait to share this awesome new red juice recipe with you!
It started out this Monday with a “7 minute workout.” Yes, it’s actually a thing; there’s an App called the 7 Minute Workout. Alex made me do it and I’m happy I did! It’s a high intensity 7 minute workout and you’ll totally be sweating afterwards! Jumping jacks, planks, wall sits, lunges, high knees…stuff like that.
After our workout, I decided to keep the good energy flowing, so I made a healthy “Everything Red Juice Recipe.”
This Red Juice Recipe is a product of what happened when I cleaned out the fridge and ran everything through the juicer! And it turned out SO WELL!
Have you ever tried juicing? It’s actually really fun! Also, I love sharing my juices and smoothies on Snapchat and Insta Stories because so many people message me and say that it has inspired them to do the same. So cool!
Also, adding veggie juices to your diet, will increase the vitamins you take in by so much!
The juicer I’ve been using for years is the Omega J8006 Juice Center. It such a great machine. It’s easy to use and easy to clean. The reason I went with this one is because of the way it processes the juice. It’s a masticating juicer, and studies show it’s healthier to press or squeeze the juice out of your veggies and fruit as opposed to spinning them really fast (which turns into friction and heat) and kills some of the nutrients. The whole point of juicing veggies is for optimal nutrition, so for my family, I chose the Omega.
If you want to be the QUEEN of juicing, or if you know someone who is a juicing veteran, there is no better juicer the the Angel. Comparatively, it’s VERY expensive, but I’ve used it before and it’s damn incredible. My girlfriend, Aleksandra, has this juicer and it extracts more juice out of the food than most juicers are able to. Again, I only recommend this if you’re a juicing veteran, if you’re 100% determined to be a juicing queen and you’re sure you will never turn back, or if you just won the lottery. ✌????????
Ok, back to this red juice recipe.
I could drink this every day. It’s not too tangy, not too sweet, and PACKED with nutrients.
I have a few juice ingredient staples that I always try to keep on hand to make any juice taste better – Ginger & Lemon. Almost always you can doctor up a juice with the addition of Ginger and Lemon.
Also, beets. Let’s talk about those for a sec. Beets are so vital to a health body. In fact, I urge you to try to eat some daily. Beets are full of healthy Nitrates that help push the blood and oxygen through your arteries. Want a healthy heart?? Eat beets!
Sometimes, I’ll juice all things green or all things red just to see what happens and what flavors come together. Tomorrow I’m planning on juicing purple cabbage (it’s surprising delicious)!
Lastly, I’ve had a few people message me today and ask me why I would choose to make a juice as opposed to a smoothie. Check out my post, Difference Between Smoothies and Juices, as this will help clear up a lot.
Basically, I like to make my juices full of veggies and I like my smoothies full of fruit. As a matter of fact, this recipe is a perfect example. Honestly, I wouldn’t be able to tolerate a full head of broccoli in a smoothie, but it’s great in a juice. Juices are also a great way to get an extra boost of vitamins that you may not normally get otherwise. Just make sure to add lots of veggies to them!
