Get ready, because I’m about to tell you how to get the best website ever!
You know when you find out something really awesome, and you think to yourself “This is so good, I’m keeping this one to myself?” Okay okay…maybe you decide to tell ONLY one person – your bestie, but it’s STILL one of those things that’s too good to tell everyone because then the whole world will know your secret.
Today, I’m sharing a business secret with you, and since it’s the kind of secret that I wold only share with my bestie, BUT I’m feeling like y’all are my besties too, so I’m letting you in on the goods.
First things first.
I have the best website ever! I fucking love my website.
It’s literally everything I’ve always wanted even when I didn’t know how to explain it.
Its simple & glam. Its branded & chic. It’s easy to navigate & it never “breaks.”
I’ve been through about 3 websites over the years. I’ve spent well over $20,000 on web development.
Some sites I tried to do myself and some, I paid a shit load of money for.
Building a website still seems to be one of the most confusing things for some people. There’s so many different ways and just about everyone has an opinion on the “right” way to do it. Many will say you should do it yourself, others will say that you should pay someone else a ton of money. Honestly, the answer to knowing the best website secrets comes down to how confident or competent you feel and whether you want to learn.
At the end of this post, I’m sharing a badass offer, but first…
Here’s a few quick tips on getting a website. Remember, this is coming from someone who HAS spent the money on all different ways, has minimal tech knowledge AND, as a result, now has an amazingly nerdy business partner to stop her from blowing money on stuff she doesn’t need ????
1. Stay away from “Website Builders”
Wix & Squarespace are OK choices to get started if you want something easy. However, it’s still not what I recommend, as eventually, you’ll switch to a WordPress based website. The ones to definitely stay away from are the GoDaddy website builder or any small solution that doesn’t have a lot of compatibility.
2. Start Simple
Your brand and website will change and develop over time so don’t feel like you need to spend a ton of money ($10,000+) just to make a splash in the online space. I find that people like simple, clean websites. Don’t try to break the mold, and what I mean by this is that use keywords and layouts that people recognize. I made the mistake of “trying to be unique” and, therefore, titled all of blog categories weird names. Instead of “Beauty,” I named it “Glamour.” Instead of “Recipes,” I named it “Meals.” Unfortunately it confused people and I learned my lesson! ????
3. Don’t Be Afraid To Pay For Quality
When you do find a quality designer or developer (there aren’t many out there), check out their portfolio and see if you think they’ll be a fit. Don’t be afraid to ask questions like:
What email marketing platform do you recommend? (I recommend ActiveCampaign)
Will I be able to edit parts of the site myself?
Where will my site be hosted? (I recommend WP Engine)
4. Accept That Your Brand Will Change
The cool thing is that your brand will evolve – and this is a good thing! Likewise, your idea of a “perfect website” will also change over time. So, its important to know that your style and your website will never be stagnant. Your website / blog fans will look forward to seeing how you grow!
By the way, ALL the credit for my website goes to Alex King, my business partner, which brings to me the offer! ????
Alex is the shit. He’s a marketing / branding / design / creative genius.
The reason I’m calling him out today is to not only brag about him and give him street cred, but also to pass along some juicy business info to you guys!
The JUICY deal is that Alex has an amazing offer happening right now for web design. I mean, REALLY amazing.
He just hired a new employee, and he’s looking for a few projects to walk the new guy through. What normally would cost $10K is available for only $2500! I’m pretty sure he will also set you up with an email marketing system, and of course, you can work with Alex and his guy and choose your logo / branding…all that good stuff.
Check out THIS LINK because it has all the details on how you too can get the best website ever. I think there’s only 2 spots left, but not sure!
I wish I would have came across a deal like this when I first started my blog lol!
So yeah…that’s my big secret to spill today! So, for those of you that have your own business, starting your own blog, or are in need of a high quality upgrade so you can have the best website too, I highly recommend jumping on this deal.
Honestly, I can say that Alex is one of the most talented and smartest people that I’ve ever met. If you have an opportunity for someone like Alex to help you with your business or build your website, you must jump on it asap. He is out of this world and my business and brand wouldn’t be the same without him.
